Psychotherapy
Yani L. Dickens, Ph.D. provides psychotherapy for individuals with a variety of concerns including stress, anxiety, and depression. He has several years of training and experience providing psychotherapy. He primarily works with adolescents and adults.
Experience
Dr. Dickens is a Nevada licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited doctoral program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas APA-accredited internship. He received training at the APA-accredited internship at Utah State University. He is trained, experienced, and licensed to provide psychological services including psychotherapy in Nevada.
Psychotherapy
Dr. Dickens mainly uses interventions shown to be effective at helping people overcome personal problems. Research in psychology demonstrates specific interventions appear to help people who receive them compared to those who do not. However, because everyone is a unique person in a unique situation with unique reactions to it, Dr. Dickens collaborates with his clients to tailor interventions to their unique needs. He seeks to establish a professional therapeutic relationship with his clients based on trust and confidentiality. He encourages clients to communicate openly about their goals, needs, and progress, and he welcomes feedback in order to make effective changes to therapeutic approach. Psychotherapy interventions are not guaranteed to help, but Dr. Dickens makes every effort to help his client meet their individual goals and needs in order to make meaningful and significant progress, to enhance quality of life, and to promote personal growth.
